Time off…

Dear friends, fans and Idiot Pilot family,

After months of record­ing, work­ing and pour­ing our hearts into more Idiot Pilot mate­r­ial, we have decided to take a moment to our­selves. The band will be going on indef­i­nite hia­tus, and although we can­not say at which point we will be work­ing again, there is no telling what the future may hold. As of right now, we are going to spend time focus­ing on other musi­cal ven­tures, mov­ing to new cities, spend­ing times with our fam­i­lies, and explor­ing the world out­side of Idiot Pilot.

This band has been a labor of love for nearly half of our lives, and if we can­not main­tain our per­vi­ous level of del­i­cacy, atten­tion and pas­sion in the music then it is time for a break. Idiot Pilot is our pride and joy, and we refuse to release some­thing into the world that isn’t the best that we can give. Thank you for your ded­i­ca­tion thus far, it means the world to us.

Bumbershoot 2010!

Idiot Pilot will join the all-star line up of this year’s Bum­ber­shoot
Music & Arts Fes­ti­val in Seat­tle, WA. They will be play­ing open­ing day
of the fes­ti­val Sat­ur­day, Sep­tem­ber 4th on the new Cen­ter Square
Stage, located between the EMP and Memo­r­ial Sta­dium Main­stage. As of
now they are sched­uled to per­form from 1:15pm to 2:15pm. This will be
Idiot Pilot’s sec­ond appear­ance at Bum­ber­shoot, their first was in
2005 on the EMP Sky­church Stage. More infor­ma­tion about their
appear­ance will be made avail­able soon.

Now in it’s 40th year Bum­ber­shoot is North America’s largest urban
arts and music fes­ti­val. This years head­lin­ers include Bob Dylan,
Weezer and Mary J. Blige, along with many other regional, national and
inter­na­tional acts.

Jet Black Review Contest

Hey every­body! Thanks for all of the great feed­back we have been get­ting on The Tail of a Jet Black Swan sin­gle, we really appre­ci­ate all the sup­port and gen­eros­ity from those of you who have decided to pay for your down­load, and from every­one who has shared the song with their friends.

In honor of the release we are going to be hav­ing a lit­tle con­test. The idea is sim­ple, on your blog, web­site, Face­book, or what­ever pub­lish­ing tool you pre­fer, do a review and analy­sis of The Tail of a Jet Black Swan. It can be either pos­i­tive or neg­a­tive, but the win­ning review will be deter­mined by how insight­ful and per­cep­tive your analy­sis of the song is. You have until April 7th, once the win­ner is deter­mined they will be noti­fied and will receive a signed copy of the very, very, very rare and dif­fi­cult to find Cruel World Enter­prise EP by Michael and myself.
